Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for attendees and organizers—payments, doors, payouts, and operations. If you need a human, contact support.
Buying tickets
What payment methods can I use?
Tickets-Fest accepts major credit and debit cards through our PCI-aligned checkout. Available methods may vary slightly by region or organizer settings. You will see every option that applies to your order before you pay.
Can I buy more than one ticket in a single order?
Yes. During checkout you can adjust quantities per ticket type (for example general admission plus a VIP add-on). Each attendee can receive their own QR where the organizer enables per-ticket delivery; otherwise one purchaser may manage the full order from their account.
Where do I find my confirmation and QR code?
After a successful payment you will see an on-screen confirmation and receive an email receipt. Signed-in customers can open Account → Orders anytime to view order status, ticket details, and QR codes when the organizer has released them.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Transfer rules are set per event. Many organizers allow transfers before the event; some restrict transfers for fraud prevention. Check the event page or your order details for transfer availability and deadlines.
What if the event sells out?
If the organizer enables a waitlist or additional releases, you will see that on the event page. Otherwise you can follow the organizer for future dates. We never charge a card for a waitlist spot until a ticket is actually allocated and you confirm checkout.
Refunds and cancellations
Who sets the refund policy?
Each organizer publishes their refund and cancellation policy on the event listing. Tickets-Fest processes refunds according to that policy and applicable law. Platform service fees may be handled differently depending on timing—see the policy shown at checkout.
What happens if the organizer cancels the event?
For organizer-cancelled events, eligible orders are typically refunded automatically to the original payment method. You will receive email updates with timelines. If you do not see a refund within the stated window, contact support with your order ID.
Can I get a partial refund or exchange for a different tier?
Upgrades, downgrades, and partial refunds depend on organizer rules and inventory. Use Contact support from your order or the event page so we can route the request to the organizer’s team with the right context.
I disputed a charge with my bank—what now?
Chargebacks pause fulfillment while the case is reviewed. If you intended to request a refund through the organizer instead, reply to your order confirmation or open a ticket so we can align with the organizer and avoid duplicate resolution paths.
Event attendance
What should I bring to the door?
Bring a charged phone with brightness up for QR scanning, or a printed ticket if you prefer. Have a government-issued ID ready if the event is 21+ or the organizer requires identity checks. Screenshots can fail if the QR refreshes—use the official ticket link or wallet pass when offered.
What if I arrive late?
Door times and re-entry rules are set by the venue and organizer. Late arrival may be allowed but is not guaranteed. Check the event description for “doors open” and “show starts” times and any cutoffs for entry.
How do I request accessibility accommodations?
Use the contact options on the event page or reach our support team with your order ID. We forward accessibility requests directly to the organizer and venue partners so they can confirm available services (seating, companion tickets, ASL, etc.).
QR verification
Why does my QR look different from a screenshot?
Some organizers issue rotating or signed QR payloads to reduce fraud. Always open your ticket from the official Tickets-Fest link or your account. If scanning fails, staff can often look up your order—see the scanner section for what happens at the door.
Can someone else use a copy of my QR?
Each successful scan marks the ticket as used in our system. The first valid scan wins. Protect your QR like cash; do not post it publicly. If you believe your ticket was compromised, contact support immediately with your order ID.
Do scanners work offline?
Check-in apps can queue scans when connectivity is poor and sync when the device is back online. Organizers should brief door staff on backup procedures (manual lookup) for extended outages. Attendees should still present the official ticket screen or printout.
Organizer payouts
When do organizers receive payouts?
After your event, eligible balances move through a payout request workflow. Platform fees and any chargeback reserves are applied before approval. An admin reviews and approves payouts according to your agreement and risk checks.
How do I add or update payout details?
Complete payout profile and banking information in the organizer dashboard where enabled. Incomplete profiles delay approval. Never share banking details over informal channels—only through the verified fields in your account.
What fees are deducted?
Your contract lists platform and payment processing fees. Fee breakdowns appear on payout statements. If something looks inconsistent, open a finance ticket from the organizer dashboard with the payout ID.
POS sales
Who can sell tickets at the door?
Only users with the Point of Sale role can access the POS workspace. Organizers assign that role deliberately so cash and card sales at the door are auditable and tied to the correct inventory.
Do walk-up buyers get a QR immediately?
Yes. POS orders generate tickets the same way as web checkout so door staff can scan them on entry. Provide the customer with the printed or digital receipt instructions shown after the sale.
What if we need to void a POS sale?
Authorized organizer tools support voiding or correcting certain POS transactions according to policy. Voids are logged for reporting. Contact platform support if you need guidance on a specific edge case.
Scanner usage
What devices work for scanning?
The check-in experience runs in modern mobile browsers with camera access. Use a recent iOS or Android device, good lighting, and a stable connection when possible. Tablets on stands work well for high-volume doors.
What do the different scan results mean?
Valid means first entry recorded. Already used indicates the ticket was scanned before—escalate to a lead. Invalid or unknown codes may be screenshots, wrong events, or corrupted displays; use manual lookup by order or email when trained to do so.
Can we turn off scan sounds?
Audio feedback helps noisy environments but can be adjusted in the scanner UI where the setting is exposed. Match your venue policy and accessibility needs; visual feedback remains on screen for each scan.
System and dashboard operations
Which dashboard module should I use for each task?
Use Events and Venues for setup, Attendees and Online Purchases for buyer/order support, Scanner and POS for door operations, Promo Codes and Sales Team for growth, and Reports plus Payouts for finance reconciliation.
How do I quickly find records in large tables?
Start with the search box (order ID, email, event name, referral code), then narrow with status/date filters. Use pagination to keep pages lightweight and export CSV only after filters are applied so your download matches exactly what you need.
When should I use RSVP mode instead of ticket sales mode?
Use RSVP mode for registration-first events where approval/check-in control is more important than payment. Use ticket sales mode for paid entry and inventory control. Keep only one mode active per event to avoid attendee confusion.
What is the safest door workflow during poor internet?
Keep at least one online scanner lead, let other scanners queue offline scans, and assign one support person to manual order lookup. After connectivity stabilizes, verify queued scans sync before closing the gate shift.
How do I know an event is payout-ready?
Confirm event completion, verify no unresolved payment disputes, reconcile POS and online orders, and check refund/void actions are finalized. Once those checks are clean, submit the payout request with confidence.
